Pi Day 2013

How are you celebrating Pi Day this year (March 14, i.e. 3.14)?  Send me an email with your Pi Day activity - include pictures if you have them.

The Tech Department and ECC staff are honoring Pi with a selection of edible objects in circular shape.  So you can't submit that idea!

The person who submits the best idea submitted that I like will receive an MIS Technologies beverage holder.  Keep in mind I'm a recycled Math teacher . . . that will bias my selection to activities that promote mathematics awareness.  Just saying!  Note the circular theme of the beverage holder--perfectly apropos for the occasion.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, 3/15/13.  Contest is open to ESSD staff and faculty (except for the tech department staff who are rewarded every day with the joy of working with me).

  1. Congratulations Arnold List, MS!

In Mr. List's words: "We ate pie of course, and found one of the earliest uses (references ) of Pi - King Solomon building the temple Sea (vessels)of cast metal. I Kings 7:23
23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about."

Your MIS Technologies beverage holder is on its way to you.
